Title: DELETE THIS FXXXING WORLD Author: Svetlana Pryadko Genre: Dark Comedy / Sci-Fi Drama / Contemporary Writing Cast Size: 6 actors (3F, 3M) + off-screen/animal voices Logline: While two frantic Silicon Valley tech-bros lose control of a mind-reading AI code named "The Horsemen of the Apocalypse," a young Russian programmer and a proud 85-year-old aristocrat seek mutual salvation inside a decaying historical apartment. Character Breakdown: • YOUNG WOMAN (30s) – A brilliant but emotionally exhausted software programmer escaping a bitter divorce. • LADY (Matilda Alexandrovna, 85) – A majestic, eccentric aristocrat living in her memories of the past; claims a court rank from the Russian Empire. • ALEX & PHIL (30s–40s) – Anxious startup developers in California, trying to patch a failing product while dealing with aggressive market demands and a terrifyingly observant cleaning lady. • YOUNG MAN / TAXI DRIVER (25) – A brisk, practical, and loud driver navigating the chaotic reality of modern Moscow. • AUNT LYUBA (50) – A bold, unapologetic, and sharp-tongued immigrant cleaner in Silicon Valley who blasts Britney Spears and refuses to respect tech-bro authority. • LEVIATHAN (The Cat) & KESHA (The Parrot) – The young woman's unusual, vocal animal companions. Plot Summary: The play opens with a Young Woman arriving at a chaotic Moscow train station, completely lost, carrying nothing but a suitcase, a cat named Leviathan, and a loud, 100-year-old talking parrot. A local taxi driver helps her find a daily room for rent in the historic center of the capital. The apartment belongs to Matilda Alexandrovna, an elderly lady wrapped in old fur stoles, who is deeply suspicious of the young woman’s profession as a "programmer" (which she mistakes for espionage). Despite their initial hostility, the old lady takes the stranded young woman and her animals in for the night. Meanwhile, in Silicon Valley, California, tech developers Alex and Phil are facing a crisis. Their startup's new application, an AI designed to bypass interfaces and read human thoughts directly, has locked up at 93% progress. The server is down, and the code – ominously named "The Horsemen of the Apocalypse" – was written by the Young Woman's ex-husband back in Russia, who has since gone off the grid. As they panic, an enigmatic Russian cleaning lady, Aunt Lyuba, aggressively sweeps through their office, unknowingly throwing away their physical crypto wallet password. Back in the Moscow apartment, bathed in soft lamplight, the two women share tea and build an unexpected bridge across a century of historical trauma. Matilda flips through an old photo album, recounting how her father survived the trenches of World War I, lost his Homeland during the 1917 Revolution, and had to work for his own enemies just to keep his family fed during the worst years of Soviet oppression. Her stories of systemic hatred, survival, and the high price of love directly echo the young woman's contemporary feelings of alienation, betrayal, and displacement. The narrative weaves back into a flashback dream sequence, revealing a Zoom call between the California developers and the young woman's husband six months prior. It exposes the cynical reality of the tech industry, where human emotions and boundaries are commodified into data points for market fit. By juxtaposing the cold, algorithmic chaos of Silicon Valley with the intimate, heartbreaking memories of survival in Russia, "DELETE THIS FXXXING WORLD" examines what happens when society loses its core humanity. It is a timely, witty, and deeply moving exploration of whether humanity can find a "reset button" before our own creations delete us.
